The lump may be clearly visible or can be felt by hand when examined. Sometimes the first symptom of breast cancer may be a metastasis in the lymph node, which can feel like a lump in the armpit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is wise to bear in mind, however, that not all nodules in the breast area mean cancer. The cancerous tumour in a breast may appear as an inverted nipple, withdrawal of the nipple or with symptoms as a clear or bloody discharge from the nipples.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An incurable ulcer or a rash on the areola may also be symptoms of breast cancer. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other breast cancer symptoms<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The symptoms of breast cancer may also appear in other ways. Abnormal tiredness, (CRF i.e. cancer-related fatigue), weight loss, or other types of pain may all be signs of cancer in the body. Self-monitoring of the breasts is important so that changes can be detected well in time. In Finland, women aged between 50 and 69 are invited to participate in mammography screenings every two years. This countrywide and effective breast cancer screening is carried out so that breast cancer can be detected as early as possible.  More than 80% of those invited participate in screening, and about two-thirds of breast cancers are found in the course of this regular screening. <\/p>\n\n\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-advancedgallery The biopsy is analysed to see if there are any cancer cells in the biopsy.<br><br>If the biopsy is negative, i.e. no cancer cells are found, it may be a benign cyst. Normally, these may not be removed unless they are otherwise interfering with your life (e.g. pain when wearing a bra). Large cysts can be drained by puncture, i.e. removal of fluid with a thin needle.<br><br>If cancer cells are found in the breast, the first treatment is often breast cancer surgery. To do this, the armpit must also be examined to ensure that the cancer cells have not spread to the armpit.
