Body Contouring After Massive Weight Loss (MWL)\/ Post bariatric surgery<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Losing body weight is an important goal for an overweight person. It can be reached with diet and physical exercise. Sometimes bariatric surgery is needed for medical reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The joy of a massive weight loss can be reduced by excess skin which causes deformities of the whole body. These folds can cause both physical and aesthetic problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the weight loss, the body metabolism needs to stabilise before considering plastic surgical corrections. It usually takes about 2 years.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The patients can end up in a cycle of multiple surgeries, so it is important to plan the need of surgery well before starting, i.e. what needs to be done and in which order. At the same time, it is important to keep the bodyweight stable and exercise regularly in order to improve the skin elasticity and the final result.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
